At Charles Austen we have developed a diverse range of air and gas pumps with a variety flow rates to best fit the environments they are installed in. Our air pump range can be used in applications such as air beds, environmental monitoring, oils rigs and high pressure paint spraying.

DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

The air/gas diaphragm pump provides a pumping chamber which is totally sealed, therefore does not require a sliding seal between moving parts. Vacuum and pressure is produced by the flexing of the diaphragm back and forth in the chamber. The reciprocating action is created by an eccentric driven connecting rod under the diaphragm. The liquid diaphragm pumps can handle corrosive gases and vapours when the correct materials are specified and are completely oil free, making them ideal for use in applications where contamination cannot be tolerated.

LINEAR DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

The simple yet efficient pumping principle uses a magnetically operated diaphragm. This action flexes a diaphragm at one or both ends of the connecting rod within a totally sealed pumping chamber. This eliminates sliding parts keeping wear, tear and power consumption to a minimum.

ROCKING PISTON PUMPS

Rocking piston pumps combine the higher performance of a piston pump with the simplicity of a diaphragm pump in small economic unit. The piston is fixed rigidly to the top of the connecting rod. An eccentric drive causes the piston to reciprocate and a flexible seal maintains contact with the cylinder walls, compensating for the rocking motion. The pumps are capable of operating continuously with minimum maintenance, offering high performance, particularly pressure within a compact package.

EXPLOSION PROOF PUMPS

Charles Austen Pumps specialise in the production of explosion-proof pumps. Our EX series is ATEX approved meaning that they can be used in workplaces that produce explosive, or potentially explosive atmospheres. Examples of this include vehicle paint spraying, handling fine organic dusts such as flour and the petrochemical industry (where class IIC certification is required). The EX series pumps provide a clean oil free vacuum and pressure source that thanks to its robust construction and long life is suitable for continuous duty.

LABORATORY PUMPS

The Dymax Series provides a clean oil free vacuum or pressure source. Rated for continuous operation, the Dymax Series is whisper quiet and ruggedly reliable. The diaphragm pump is housed within a clean, tough and compact polycarbonate case which conforms to IEC 1010 for safety.
